Coconut Chutney is one of the delicious chutney in south
india and its a mandatory side dish for idli, Dosa, Chapathi etc. Coconut chutney is made of Grated coconut,
Roasted gram, Green chilli, Mustard, Curry leaves and oil as required. It will not take much time to prepare and its
very tasty and delicious.
Coconut helps to prevent obesity, always raw coconut is good for health. This Chutney we prepare with raw coconut and roasted gram. Coconut consists of medium chain fatty acids
which is must for good health. High in
dietary fiber, since the body cannot digest dietary fiber and it has no effect
on blood sugar. Coconut helps and
improves digestion and if you have regularly raw coconut you will not have
constipation problem. Coconut oil helps in hair growth.
Coconut chutney will go with any breakfast and it also suits best
with Pongal as well. Even you can use
this as bread spread and its very easy to make.
If you have mixer at home you can make many things especially in bachelor’s
kitchen. Coconut Chutney will not take
much time to prepare. Easy coconut
recipe just for you. Because of roasted
gram with coconut it will give amazing taste.

Ingredients for Coconut Chutney
Grated Coconut – 50gm
Roasted gram – 2½ tbspn
Green chilli – 2No.
Mustard – 1tspn
Curry Leaves – little
Oil 1 tspn
Salt as required
Preparation
Add all the above ingredients to the small jar of the mixer
and grind well. After grinding for a
minute please add little water and grind again.
Transfer this to bowl and fry mustard, curry leaves in pan and add this to chutney. Delicious and fabulous Coconut Chutney is ready to serve.

You can use regular chana dal but the test differs. Normally and traditionally we use only pottukadalai for this chutney
