Cabbage Matar Sabzi

Cabbage Matar Sabzi is one among the best side dish for poori, chapathi, roti, paratha and you can have this as side dish with rice as well.  Cabbage is rich in fiber and its very good for ulcer as well.  Preparation of cabbage peas curry is very easy and simple recipe.

Ingredients for Cabbage Matar Sabzi

Cabbage – 750 gm
Green peas – 100gm
Onion – 1
Tomato – 1
Garlic cloves – 7
Ginger – small piece
Chilli powder – 2 tspn                           
Turmeric powder – ½ tspn
Coriander powder – 3 tspn
Cumin seed – 1 tspn
Cinnamon – small piece
Bay leaf – 1
Salt to taste
Oil as required

First cut the Cabbage and wash thoroughly and drain the water and keep aside.  Peel the skin of garlic and ginger and chop to small pieces.  Slice the onion and tomato.  Keep the pan in flame add required oil then add the bay leaf, cinnamon, cumin seed, chopped ginger and garlic then onion and saute for 2 minutes and add required salt.  Then add the tomato and lid for 2 minutes to cook the tomato to soft.

Add Chilli powder, Turmeric Powder and Coriander powder and mix it well.  Now add the green peas lid for 2 more minutes.  After that add cabbage mix it well and cook of 10 minutes in sim flame and at regular interval you have to turn upside down.  The delicious Cabbage Matar sabzi is ready to serve.

Coconut Milk Rice
