Rasam Recipe (Tomato Rasam)

Cool Rasam recipe for all the viewers and the main ingredient is Tomato so its is called Tomato Rasam.  There are varieties of Rasam like Tomato Rasam, Paruppu Rasam, Poondu (Garlic) rasam, Pepper rasam etc.  Today I am going to give the recipe for Tomato Rasam.  Rasam is one of the delicious in south indian recipe and its good for digestion.   This is most simple and easy recipe to make.

Rasam Recipe (Tomato Rasam)
Rasam you can have with rice, idli, dosa etc. and even you can have as a soup its very tasty.  Ingredients for tomato rasam given below:-

Ingredients

Tomato – 1No. Medium size
Tamarind – small piece
Toor dal – 50gm
Pepper – 2tspn
Cumin seed – 2tspn
Mustard – 1tspn
Curry leaves – little
Corriander leaves – little
Green Chilli – 2 No.
Turmeric powder - little
Salt as required
Oil as required

Preparation

1)       Heat the pan and add oil let the oil get heated up and add Mustard after the mustard get fried
2)      Add Green chilli and add curryleaves
3)      Then add tamarind juice and add little turmeric powder and let the mixture get boiled
4)      At this stage add tomato which we cut into small pieces and let the tomato get cooked
5)      In the meantime crush the black pepper and cumin seed in mixer
6)      After the tomato get cooked add the coarsely crushed pepper and cumin seed don’t let it boil more after adding pepper and cumin seed as it will give you a bitter taste.
7)      Switch off the flame and add coriander leaves.
8)      The delicious rasam is ready to serve

Its very easy to make and it will not take much time and it helps in digestion.  Hot cooked rice with rasam will be delicious for lunch with papad or potato poriyal.  In my future post I will share the rest of the rasam.

Garlic Porridge

Garlic Porridge is one of the easily digestible porridge with very few ingredients.   We made this with Garlic, Rice, Green Gram, fenugreek, milk etc.   The consistency we are preparing is bit like curd rice consistency and if you want more dilute you can add milk or hot water as per the required consistency. Ingredients for Garlic Porridge Rice – 1 ¼ Cup Green mung dal / green gram – ¼ cup Fenugreek – 1 tspn Garlic – 3 Milk – 250 ml Salt to taste Transfer the rice, green gram, fenugreek in washing bowl and wash thoroughly and transfer this to pressure cooker with garlic cloves, salt and 5 glass of water for this quantity. Cook this in pressure cooker for 6 whistles. Wait till the pressure subsides in the pressure cooker and mix it will well and add the boiled milk with it and mix again.
