Vada Curry

Vada Curry is a very famous South Indian gravy /curry which is served as a side dish for idli, dosa and parotas. In this post I had given my video explanation on how to prepare or make the delicious Vada Curry.  I have listed the ingredients as below and for preparation please watch my video.

Ingredients required for Vada Curry

For the vada preparation

Chenna dal - 150 gm
Toor dal -50 gm
Fennel seeds - 2 teaspoon
Red chilli - 5No.
Salt to taste

For the curry/ gravy


Onion - 3/4 cup (thinly sliced)
Tomato - 1 cup (finely chopped)
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Thin Coconut milk - 3/4 cup
Thick coconut milk - 1/4 cup (not very thick)

For the masala

Ginger - 1 inch piece
Garlic - 6 cloves
Cinnamon - 1 inch piece
Cloves - 6No.

For Coconut paste

Coconut - 1/2 cup
Green chilli - 3 No.
Fennel seeds - 2 tsp  

For the seasoning

Oil - 2 tbsp
Bay leaf -1
Curry leaves - small qty.
Garlic - 5 cloves
Onion medium size - (cut in to think slices)
Tomato - 1 No.
Turmeric powder - little

Ash gourd sabzi is very easy to prepare and its very tasty as well.   As all know ash gourd plays a major role in weight loss, very good blood purifier and it helps to clean the stomach.   So we are very happy to share this wonderful recipe.
