Wheat
vermicelli upma is the normal vermicelli upma which everyone use to prepare but
we have used wheat vermicelli with few variance. Only with few ingredients this upma tastes
well. You can give this to children in
the evening time instead of noodles.
Ingredients
for Wheat vermicelli upma
Wheat
vermicelli – 180 gm
Mustard
– 1 tspn
Cumin
Seed – 1 tspn
Cashew
nut – 12
Ginger
– small piece
Green
chilli – 2
Curry
leaves – little
Onion
– 1
Carrot
– 1
Green
peas – 100 g
Salt
to taste
Oil
as required
First
you have to soak the wheat vermicelli for 2 minutes in water. Then you have to cut the carrot in to small
pieces, chop the onion, chop the curry leaves, chop the green chill, chop the
ginger, peel the fresh green peas and break the cashew nut in to small pieces.
Keep
the idli cooker in flame, keep the idli cooker plate and lay the cotton cloth
and above this spread the wheat vermicelli. You have to drain the water
completely then only you have keep in idli cooker for steam cook. Steam cook the vermicelli for 8 to 10 minutes
and keep aside.
Keep
the pan in flame and as soon as the oil get heated up, Mustard and as soon it
crackles, cumin seed followed by curry leaves, green chilli, ginger, cashew nut
then Onion, Carrot, Green peas and then required salt, mix it well and lid this
for approximately for 5 minutes then add the steam cooked wheat vermicelli with
this and mix it well.
Check the salt if
required add more salt and lid this for 2 minutes. The delicious Wheat vermicelli upma is ready
