Banana Curry (Green banana curry)

Banana curry (Green banana curry) is one of the south indian favourite.  We use to make this recipe often with green banana is mildly spiced and goes very well as a side dish with sambar rice, rasam rice etc.   Banana curry (Green Banana curry) we prepared without coconut and mild spicy.  This is quick and easy recipe which is made using raw banana.

Good points about Green banana consists of no cholesterol, very low in sodium, high in vitamin A, High in vitamin C.  The bad point is its very high in sugar for diabetes its not good.

Ingredients for Banana curry (Green banana curry)


Green Banana (Raw banana) – 3No.
Onion – 1No.
Fennel seed – 2 tspn.
Kashmir chilli powder – 1tbsn
Oil to fry
Mustard – 1 tspn
Salt to taste

Preparation


Peel the skin of Green banana using the peeler and cut into slices and soak this in water otherwise the green banan turn black.  Grind the onion and fennel seeds together in mixer as a paste and keep aside.

Heat the pan add oil and let the oil get heated up after that add mustard and let the mustard fritters and add Green banana and little salt so that green banana pieces will not stick together.  Saute little then add the paste of onion and fennel seeds then add Kashmiri chilli powder mix it well so that the paste evenly coated in green banana pieces.

Put on the lid and keep in sim flame for 10 minutes.  At regular interval turn the pieces upside down using spatula so that it will catch in bottom of the pan.  After 10 minutes Banana curry (Green banana curry) is ready to serve.

Garlic Porridge

Garlic Porridge is one of the easily digestible porridge with very few ingredients.   We made this with Garlic, Rice, Green Gram, fenugreek, milk etc.   The consistency we are preparing is bit like curd rice consistency and if you want more dilute you can add milk or hot water as per the required consistency. Ingredients for Garlic Porridge Rice – 1 ¼ Cup Green mung dal / green gram – ¼ cup Fenugreek – 1 tspn Garlic – 3 Milk – 250 ml Salt to taste Transfer the rice, green gram, fenugreek in washing bowl and wash thoroughly and transfer this to pressure cooker with garlic cloves, salt and 5 glass of water for this quantity.
